Which one do you pick?
(Assume all vehicles are in brand new condition)
-You can use the amenities of the car from the back seat, but can’t climb onto the passenger seat.
-All cars will be driven in the same manner.
2011 Hyundai Azera
2012 Freelander (LR2)
2015 Golf GTI

Lr2. It’s still within the acceptable range for leg-cramping, and the head and shoulder room would make all the difference over any trip more than an hour. There’s something to be said for not being made to *feel* cramped even if you physically aren’t.

I reject your options and substitute my own:

Having sat in none of these back seats (though I did ride in the back of a Golf R), and assuming I am guaranteed immunity from breakdowns, I’ll take the Freelander.

Ok Miss Daisy, sure.

the Azera, it’ll have the most comfortable ride and most rear-seat leg room.

Freelander...

Azera. I’ve bene in all 3 and spend a decent amount of road trip time in an azera and its by far the best road tripper.

And likely the only one that would make it.
BURN!

Going cross country so I assume there might be some light off roading, & I want comfort. So the LR2.

Hyundai how is this even a question

This is tough. The Azera seems like it would be roomiest, but that seat shape doesn’t look awesome.
Haven’t sat in the back of any of these, but I’ll go with the Hyundai.

I like this - I’d feel like a dictator.

First choice is Hyundai, second LR2

Rejecting the GTI right away since I am a tallish adult.
The Land Rover probably has the headroom, but likely the ride quality too similar to a 15 year old Ford Escape that I spent a lot of time in. Bad
The Hyundai looks like a big bag of marshmallows. Assuming I’ve got a place for my noggin AND my legs, that’s my choice.

Alright, I’ll raise the ante...

I have already ridden cross country in the back of a 3-door mk 2 Golf. It was a pre-production model (my aunt worked for VW). I don’t care for the Freelander much, so I’ll go with the Azera.

Absolutely.
The only way to see the USA

Our’s has been in the shop a few times in less than a year, granted nothing affecting driveability sent it there.

Hyundai. Every time
I wouldn’t trust the LR2, and I don’t quite fit too well in the back of the GTI.

rumble seat, or wooden bench.......
any cross country trip would be just absolutely epic...... could take a week, or three........

I choose Princess 2200 HLS.

You said all cars will be driven in the same manner, but what manner is that exactly?
![]() 06/05/2017 at 16:22 |

Fast.
Need to poop fast.
Not robbed a bank fast.

Since I’m strictly a passenger, I guess I’d prefer the Land Rover since it would provide an ever-so-slightly better view with the higher ride height/seating position.
Otherwise the Hyundai would be my next choice as it’d probably be the most comfortable.

Azera - they really are pretty nice.
![]() 06/05/2017 at 22:06 |

Yeah, I’ll take the Azera.
The Freelander probably won’t make it, and the GTI would be cramped in comparison. And, this is a back seat thing, so driving experience doesn’t matter.

“Need to poop” or “NEED TO POOP?”

Golf sounds good.

I CAN’T HOLD IT IN ANY LONGER

Faster than a bank robbery. Got it.
GTI then.
